From 8-20th August, we are heading to Japan!
At Nexus, one of our key pillars is that we are missional. This involves sharing the love of Christ in practical ways with those outside of our culture or comfort zone. From regional expressions of Christ’s love to global partners working in remote places across the globe, our heart is the same: to see the love of Christ spread far and wide.
This August, we are going to have a missions team heading over to Japan on a 13-day trip to minister to Japanese youth, youth leaders and young adults.

Why are we heading to Japan? We have been invited to assist in co-leading a Youth Camp near Tokyo. You’ll be working with both local Japanese youth leaders, as well as some American co-leaders in the day to day operation of the camp – including co-leading small groups, setting up and running activities and games, participating and co-leading worship times and serving where needed. Our goal is to build strong peer relationships with the local youth leaders and continue this connection beyond the scope of the trip, looking towards return trips in future years.
Other than the Youth camp, what else is happening? We have also been invited to participate in a Young Adults service at a Church in Tokyo City. You’ll be ready to serve wherever needed and if you have musical, technical or leadership/ministry skills, to use them practically during the service. You’ll be meeting Japanese young adults and spending time with them on the Sunday.
Is there time for sightseeing? The trip will also involve some tourism activities which may include exploring Tokyo City, exploring the Mt Fuji region and a visit to Tokyo Disneyland/Disneysea.
How much will this trip cost? $2700pp plus food (more details to be provided at a later date)
Will everyone who expresses interest in the trip get to go? Filling in the form does not guarantee a spot on the team for this trip however if on this occasion a spot is not available for you the information you share will help us continue the conversation with you around missional opportunities going forward.
