Celebrating 50 Years of God’s Faithfulness

For 50 years, God has been faithful to Nexus Church.

As we look back over the past five decades, we see more than dates, buildings, and milestones. We see the faithfulness of God woven through countless stories of answered prayer, sacrificial service, transformed lives, and generations of people encountering Jesus.

What began as a local church with a vision to reach people with the hope of the Gospel has become a story shared by thousands. Through seasons of growth and change, moments of challenge and celebration, God has remained steadfast.

For 50 years, this church has been a place where people have found faith, discovered purpose, built lasting friendships, and encountered the life-changing love of Jesus. We have celebrated baptisms, dedicated children, supported families, grieved together, prayed together, and witnessed God’s faithfulness through every season.

We honour the pastors, leaders, volunteers, families, and faithful members who have helped shape the story of Nexus Church. Their prayers, generosity, obedience, and vision created foundations that continue to impact lives today.

Yet this story has never simply been about preserving what was built.

From the beginning, Nexus has been a church on the move – reaching beyond its walls, serving local communities, and sharing the hope of Jesus wherever God opens a door.

Today, that mission continues through our communities in Everton Park, Samford, and Sandgate. We see people growing in faith, serving their neighbours, caring for those in need, and bringing the love of Jesus into everyday life. Through discipleship, community outreach, practical support, and local partnerships, we remain committed to being a church that makes a difference beyond Sunday gatherings.

As we celebrate God’s faithfulness behind us, we also look ahead with faith and expectancy. We believe God is still moving, still calling people to Himself, and still inviting His church to participate in His work.

The next 50 years are not simply something we inherit; they are something we build together.

As we honour the past and celebrate the present, we look to the future with gratitude, faith, and a renewed commitment to follow wherever God leads.

The same God who has been faithful for the past 50 years will be faithful in the years to come.
